In this episode, we have Rafal Pielak, Co-Founder and CEO of Soteri Skin. He has an extensive experience in the fields of chemistry, biophysics, and molecular biology. Rafal began his career in 2002 as a Research Assistant in the Neuroscience Laboratory at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. In 2003, they became a Research Assistant in the Molecular Biology of Cancer at Hunter College.
In 2006, Rafal joined Harvard Medical School as a Biomedical Scientist and Head Teaching Fellow in Biochemistry and Biophysics. Rafal also served as a Teaching Assistant in Chemistry at Harvard University in 2011. From 2011 to 2013, Rafal was a Business Development Consultant at Agios Pharmaceuticals and a Postdoctoral Fellow in Chemistry and Biophysics at the University of California at Berkeley. Most recently, Rafal is Co-founder and CEO of Soteri Skin, a company that develops innovative treatments for eczema and sensitive skin.
Rafal Pielak received his BA in Biological Sciences & Chemistry, magna cum laude, from Hunter College. Rafal then went on to Harvard University, where he earned his PhD in Biological Chemistry & Molecular Pharmacology in 2010. In 2017, he completed the Managing Teams for Innovation and Success Executive Education program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Soteri Skin journey began when Rafal, a scientist and inventor, saw his wife and daughter suffering from their eczema.
Like other eczema sufferers, they had tried everything—every cream, prescription, or remedy they could get their hands on—with no relief.
